FlyLifeCo & BetoFPV Capture Aerials for eBay Motors x McLaren F1 at Circuit of the Americas
When eBay Motors teamed up with McLaren F1 for an electrifying head-to-head time attack at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the challenge was clear — capture speed, precision, and adrenaline from the sky. To make it happen, aerial DP Martin Novak and drone pilot Alberto Diaz (aka @BetoFPV) of FlyLifeCo were brought in to handle the aerial cinematography.
The video featured two fan-favorite drivers — Hertrech “Hert” Eugene and Life of Annie — going wheel-to-wheel in a high-octane battle on one of the most iconic tracks in the U.S. To do justice to the spectacle, FlyLifeCo deployed a custom FPV drone rig carrying a Sony FX6 cinema camera, alongside a DJI Inspire 3 for dynamic tracking and establishing shots.

Capturing Speed with Precision
Filming high-performance cars at full tilt demands more than just drone skill — it requires engineering precision and creative collaboration. Martin Novak designed and operated the custom-built FPV platform, capable of carrying the Sony FX6 for cinematic image quality while maintaining high-speed stability. Meanwhile, Alberto “BetoFPV” Diaz piloted the FPV drone with surgical control, weaving through turns and chasing the McLaren at over 100 mph.
For aerial coverage, the DJI Inspire 3 provided sweeping overheads and smooth follow shots that tied the story together. Together, these tools captured the raw energy of the race while highlighting the artistry and performance behind both the drivers and their machines.
